Help & FAQ

Druk Connect

Welcome to Druk Connect — the community events and business directory platform for the Bhutanese community in Australia and Bhutan. Below are answers to common questions. If you can't find what you need, contact us at [email protected].

Getting started

How do I create an account? Open the app and choose Sign in with Apple, Continue with Google, or Sign up with email. If you use email, we'll send you a verification step to confirm it's you.

I signed in with Apple and my name looks wrong. If you used Apple's "Hide My Email" and chose not to share your name, Apple gives us a private, random email address instead of your name. You can set your display name any time in Profile → Edit Profile.

I forgot my password. On the email sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and follow the link we email you.

How old do I need to be? You must be at least 16 to create a Druk Connect account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to be involved — including for registering you for events or tournaments and for any payments.

Who runs Druk Connect? Druk Connect is operated by Lam Penjor (ABN 15 184 654 507), a sole trader based in WA 6018, Australia.

Why do you ask for my home region and interests? During setup we ask for your home country, home region/state, and interest categories. We use these to show you events near you and to order your feed — they're not shared with other users. You can change them any time in Profile → Region Preferences and Interest Categories.

Events

What's the difference between RSVP and buying a ticket? Free events use RSVP (I'm Going / Maybe) so organisers know who's coming. Paid events sell tickets through a secure checkout.

How does check-in work? Your ticket includes a QR code. At the door, the organiser scans it to check you in.

How do multi-day events work? Some events run across several days. You'll see each day listed, and your ticket or RSVP covers the days shown on the event.

What are event updates and prayers/announcements? Organisers can post updates and announcements to keep attendees informed. You'll see these on the event and, if you've opted in, as a notification.

Payments & refunds

How do I pay? Australian events use secure card payment (including Apple Pay / Google Pay where available) via Stripe. For Bhutan-based events and sponsors, payment is made by bank transfer through the in-app portal; access is confirmed once we verify the transfer.

Is my card safe? Yes. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.

How do I get a refund? Open the ticket in My Activity → Tickets and use Request a refund at the bottom. What happens next depends on the refund policy the organiser set, which is shown to you before you pay and again on your ticket:

Refunds go back to the card you paid with and take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. A refund covers every ticket in that order, since they were bought together.

Whatever the organiser's policy says, your rights under Australian Consumer Law always apply:

Bhutan events are paid by bank transfer, so those refunds are returned by bank transfer and are processed by our team rather than instantly.

If something isn't right and the options above don't cover it, email us.

What is Dana? Dana is a voluntary donation to an organiser or nominated recipient. Donations are generally not tax-deductible unless the recipient is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient.

For organisers

How do I create an event? Tap Create Event and follow the wizard: Name, Category, When & Where, Event Details, Tickets & Extras, then Review & Publish.

How do I manage my event? Open your event and tap Manage Event to reach your organiser hub — event details, attendees, check-in, insights, updates, volunteers, and more.

Can I see who's attending? Yes. In the Manage Event hub you can view your attendee list, check-in status, and event insights.

Business Directory

How do I list my business? Go to the Directory tab and tap Register your business. The 4-step flow walks you through category, details, contact & location, and review. Address autocomplete helps fill in your location.

How do I manage my listing? Use the Business Portal to edit your listing, see stats, and manage any promotions.

Are there any charges? Listings may be free during launch. Where paid promotion is offered, the price is always shown before you pay.

Tournaments

How do I register for a tournament? Open the tournament and follow the registration steps. Any entry fee is paid the same way as event tickets. If you're registering a minor, a parent or guardian must do so on their behalf.

Calendar

What's in the Calendar tab? The calendar shows events and Bhutanese observances/holidays so you can plan ahead.

Notifications

How do I control notifications? Go to Profile → Notifications to turn categories on or off. Some messages (like a ticket confirmation or a security alert) are essential and are always sent while you have an account.

I stopped getting notifications. Make sure notifications are enabled for Druk Connect in your device settings, and that the categories you want are switched on in Profile → Notifications.

Privacy & your account

How do I edit my profile? Profile → Edit Profile for your name, photo, and bio; Region Preferences and Interest Categories for personalisation.

Does Druk Connect track me across other apps? No. We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't use advertising identifiers or sell your data. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account? Go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and personal information and cannot be undone. Some transaction records may be kept in an anonymised form where the law requires (for example, for tax records). See our Privacy Policy for details.
